Tonight I wonder what was on the mind of those first Jesus followers who witnessed him die agonizingly on a tree? What did they expect for their world and for their time?
No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, no matter your faith, I pray this night that you take just a moment to think about those simple people and how they must have felt all those centuries ago. May we all be humbled by reflecting on this Easter season and gain knowledge for our lives and for our world by remembering those who actually witnessed the Holy Week and the culminating resurrection event.
May the peace of Christ be with you on this night as you anticipate.
